The Story of Hike Station

“To find yourself, you must first get lost.”
Manuel Ehrensperger

Hike Station is the company name, built around one idea: to elevate hiking into a curated wellbeing experience. Our concept is BioHiking, a methodology that blends nature, movement, breath, and stillness to support mind, heart, and body. The concept is simple. We create Stations in iconic destinations, each one offering guided hikes rooted in presence, performance, and connection. Our first Station was Ibiza, launched in November 2020 by Swiss founder Manuel Ehrensperger.

Ibiza was never part of the plan. After walking away from a 25 year corporate career when it started to feel too comfortable, Manuel arrived on the island through a short lived love story. It turned out to be a twist of fate.

Very quickly, he realised that the Ibiza of glossy travel magazines, beach bars, nightclubs, and villa parties would never satisfy his curiosity. He retreated into nature to discover an Ibiza he could call his own. Daily walks along the coastline became his ritual, observing the rugged north in silence and searching for peace. Hiking soon followed.

As he explored further, Manuel discovered a network of long forgotten farmers’ and fishermen’s trails. Raw landscapes and complete stillness became more than scenery. They became a new direction. When a guidebook, Secret Walks, led him deep into the wilderness of Cala Aubarca and the legendary Na Coloms, Manuel knew he had found his purpose.

The most dangerous place on earth is your comfort zone.

Hiking became a form of daily therapy. Manuel started sharing images of hidden trails, cliffs, and untouched coves, and the reaction was always the same. Where is this, this can’t be Ibiza, will you show me. Even many locals had never seen these places.

So he did. First with friends, then with friends of friends, guided by a simple philosophy, sharing is caring. When someone asked him to reveal the island through a series of ten walks, the idea became clear. This was not just a personal escape. It was something he could build and share.

Shortly afterwards, Manuel trained for the Técnico Deportivo Level 1 guiding licence in Mallorca. The following year, he hired his first team member and partnered with Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay to offer guided hikes for guests.

Today, Hike Station is expanding. Mallorca Hike Station opened in 2025, Sardinia Hike Station followed, and new Stations are currently in development.

Hike Station now operates with a full team of multilingual, international guides and has been associated with prestigious brands and partners such as Louis Vuitton City Guide, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, and On.

The path continues, step by step, Station by Station.
